Loving Her Some Solids!

On Sunday, April 11th (Exactly one month ago today), Curry took in her first bite of solids. At first she was a little apprehensive to this little spoonful of mushy cardboard (AKA: Organic brown rice), but once she sifted it through her mouth, back and forth on her tongue, spit out pretty much all of it for me to quickly scoop back up...she actually started to like it. And the quicker I could shovel it in to her mouth the better (although I would say about 95% comes right back out). She even started to fuss at me when I was taking too much of her precious time getting another bite prepared. It was so adorable though seeing her hit another little milestone by transitioning from a bottle to a spoon. Don't worry, her meals still consist of the majority breast milk. But, within the past month we have advanced from rice to oatmeal to sweet potatoes to green beans to sweet peas. She definitely still hates the greens, but it's a work in progress. You can tell by this video and the expression on her adorable little face how she really feels about these blended veggies in a cup.

PS- Is it bad to scoop off what she spits out and re-feed it to her? I don't see the harm since it was not on her pallette but for a split second...right?! TMI, I know, but doesn't hurt to ask.

Well, Curry is getting bigger by the day and it amazes me how she is progressing (I think I now sound like a broken record on this blog), but she evolves more by the second. I was reading on one of those baby websites that sends you a weekly update on your baby's progression and it said that baby's brains are constantly connecting neurons and creating new synapses every second that they are in this world. So, it just blows my mind to think how much impact such little things as playing with a ball on the floor with her may one day lead to her graduating Magna Cum Laude from college. Crazy crazy!
